Chinese Garden of Friendship - An Oasis within Sydney's Urban Landscape

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is nestled at the south end of Darling Harbour and a short walk from Chinatown. It is a short walk from both Central and Town Hall train station.  Entering the gardens is like walking backwards in time into the quiet solitude of ancient Chinese architecture and its relationship with nature. The garden combines the elements of water, plants, stone, and architecture.

Running water, towering willow trees, cool lagoons with lotus plants and large colourful fish all make this an idyllic spot to read a book or recharge your batteries. The gardens occupy several acres combining waterfalls, lakes, pavilions, sculptures and animals.

Admission fees are quite inexpensive (Adults: $6, Children under 12: $3, Concession: $3) and they are open every day of the year between 9:30am and 5pm excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day. This place is gives you quite a contrast in comparison to the urban landscape of Sydney's city. With the cheap admission fee there's no excuse to check it out!

I definitely recommend this garden to unwind and relax, there's even a traditional Chinese Teahouse located within the garden that has an amazing view overlooking the entire garden. I wouldn't recommend the food (because let's be honest, you can get better dim sims elsewhere) but having a sip of green tea is as good as it gets.
