With Campos coffee, large communal tables, great music and staff, and of course, an incredible array of books ( They have a great selection of Penguin Books) . The shelves are stacked high with all sorts of second-hand treasures, but probably not newly released ones !And now that Gertrude & Alice has been licenced, serving alcoholic drinks to customers which makes it a even better place to enjoy a meal with friends at the wooden tables surrounded by books or just a glass of wine while browsing through interesting books.
G&A is as much of a community meeting place as it is a bookstore - exactly what you'd hope all local bookshops could be like.
